Travel information

How do we get to the Hotel?
Transportation by bus from the airport to the Competition’s location will be organized by the CCJP. The bus will leave the airport on March 20th no later than 5:00pm.
Make sure you have enough time to get out of the airport before 5:00pm (N.B.: Customs and baggage claim might take up to 90 minutes, and delays due to weather conditions at that time are also possible).
If you arrive in Montreal before March 20th and wish to take the bus, please inform info@concourspictet.org and make sure you are at the airport before 5pm. Without notification from you before March 5th, we will consider that you are making your own arrangements to go to the hotel.

Where will the bus wait for us?
More details will be available soon.

Should we advise info@concourspictet.org of our arrival time?
Indeed! Please send info@concourspictet.org a copy of your itinerary including: time of arrival in Montreal, time of departure on March 27th, flights numbers, airline(s). Do not forget to mention potential connections (it may be useful that we know where you will be at any time during that day).

Do we benefit from discounts on the purchase of our air tickets?
Yes! An agreement with Star Alliance has been signed. Discounts would range from 10 to 15%. You must contact the travel agency mentioned here below and indicate the following promotional code: AC02M10. Please, also indicate that your are students participating in the Jean-Pictet Competition.

What should we do if our baggage does not arrive on time?
Report the incident to the staff of the airline concerned and give them the address and contact information for the Chéribourg Hotel so that they can deliver your luggage. Do not wait for your baggage because the bus will leave at 5:00pm…
Then, report the incident to info@concourspictet.org as soon as you arrive at the Hotel, so that she can follow-up on your behalf.

When is the departure of the teams organized?
On March 27th. Transportation by bus to the airport will be organized (several departures from 6:00am to 10:00am – to be confirmed, depending on your times of departure and the number of people).
The drive to the airport takes approximately ninety minutes and you have to arrive 2-3 hours before take-off, therefore be careful not to book flights before noon. If you wish to leave earlier, then you have to make your own arrangements.

Please, pay attention to the size of the files: no more than 3Mo, otherwise she will not receive your message.

What kind of visa do we need to request?

Are we allowed to use our documents during the tests?
Yes, in principle.

Is the person of our Institution who coaches the team allowed to come with us?
No. Each team has a tutor trained and provided by the organisers of the Competition.

Application file

How to apply?
See the 2010 page.

We are unable to insert the footnotes in the spaces created for the answers to the questions, how should we do?
You should insert manually the footnotes at the end of your answer, or inside the text, in brackets for example. Do not forget that the word limit does include the footnotes!

Derogations

How do we make a request for derogation? And to whom?
You should write a brief letter providing the reasons for your derogation request, and the reasons the CCJP should accept it and allow your participation. The letter, as well as a Curriculum Vitae, should be sent to info@concourspictet.org. Caution: ask for a derogation before submitting your application! After submission, it will be examined together with the application file and might be a cause for non-selection.

Training documents

When will we receive training documents?
As soon as you ask!

What should we do if the links are not working?
Ensure that they are really not working…they are regularly checked. Sometimes, you just have to copy-paste the link into the address bar instead of just clicking on the link of the pdf document. If it still does not work, please inform info@concourspictet.org.
