International Humanitarian Law

International humanitarian law is a set of rules which, for humanitarian reasons, seek to limit the effects of armed conflicts. It protects those who do not take part in the fighting and restricts the means and methods of warfare.

For more information on international humanitarian law, see the website of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
