Catarina de Albuquerque
Catarina de Albuquerque is senior legal adviser at the Office for Documentation and Comparative Law (an independent institution under the Portuguese Prosecutor General’s Office) working in the area of human rights. She is the Chairperson Rapporteur of the UN Working Group on an Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. Catarina is also an Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Lisbon and an Invited Professor at the Oporto Catholic University and at the Coimbra University. Catarina has also worked over the past 12 years as a consultant for UNICEF, the European Commission, UNDP and the OHCHR. She has a Law Degree by the Law Faculty of the Lisbon University and a Masters Degree by the Graduate Institute of International Studies (Geneva).
